Project description

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join our Data Analytics team. In this role, you will design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines and services for marketing media analytics.

YOUR MISSION:

  • Build, maintain, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines for marketing and media data

  • Develop scalable data transformations, provisioning processes, and data models

  • Integrate internal and external data sources

  • Ensure data quality through cleansing, validation, enrichment, and automated quality checks

  • Optimize data workflows, orchestration, scheduling, and pipeline performance

  • Develop reusable and maintainable data platform components

  • Apply engineering best practices (Git, code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD)

  • Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability

  • Support incident analysis, root cause investigations, and continuous platform improvements

Project requirements

YOUR TECHNICAL EXPERTISE:

  • Strong experience developing scalable data pipelines using SQL in modern cloud data warehouses

  • Experience with Google BigQuery or AWS Glue (or similar cloud data warehouse technologies)

  • Experience with workflow orchestration platforms such as Apache Airflow

  • Experience with infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and Git-based development workflows

  • Strong understanding of data modeling and data transformation principles

  • Experience integrating data from multiple internal and external sources

  • Familiarity with data quality, automated validation, testing, and observability practices

  • Understanding of security, governance, and access management concepts within cloud data platforms

SOFT SKILLS:

  • Platform/DevOps/SRE mindset (enablement over ticket-driven ops)

  • Strong systems thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to build reusable solutions while balancing standardization with evolving business needs

  • Proactive & curious character

  • Communicative team player

  • Willingness to be on-site in Salzburg for frequent team meetings and workshops
